As an affiliated club of Hockey NT, and therefore Hockey Australia, Tigers Hockey Club must comply with their policies and procedures. In some cases, policies have been adapted to suit our club and members.
Constitution
The Tigers Hockey Club Constitution sets out the rules for the daily running of our club. It provides details for our members and others on the name of our club, objects, methods of management and other conditions under which we operate, as well as the reasons for our existence. It also regulates the relationship between members by setting out the basis for working with other co-members.

Hockey Australia Member Protection Policy
A Member Protection Policy aims to ensure that every person involved in our sport is treated with respect and dignity, and is safe and protected from abuse. This olicy also ensures that everyone involved in hockey is aware of his or her legal and ethical rights and responsibilities.
Tigers Hockey Club has adopted the Hockey Australia's Member Protection Policy which includes Child Protection, Images of Children, Anti-Discrimination & Harassment, Sexual Relationships, Pregnancy, Gender Identity, Alcohol, Smoking, Cyber Bullying and Social Networking Policies.

Codes of Behaviour
Every person has the right to participate in community sport which is safe, welcoming and inclusive. Equally everyone plays a part in ensuring their actions and behaviours are supportive of these values.
Tigers Hockey Club would like to remind and encourage all members that whether they are a player, parent, coach, administrator, official or spectator to treat everyone with respect and behave in a sportsmanlike manner at all times. Tigers Hockey Club strongly endorses Hockey Australia's Codes of Behaviour and penalties will apply for breaches of these Codes.

Player Selection Policy
Tigers Hockey Club’s Player Selection Policy provides a clear, consistent, and transparent process for selecting players across all club teams. The policy ensures fair opportunities for all athletes, including pathways for junior players to progress into higher or senior grades based on merit and development readiness.
It outlines the selection criteria, responsibilities of coaches and selectors, and the expectations placed on players and members. The goal is to promote fairness, encourage player development, and uphold the club’s values of integrity, teamwork, and inclusion.

Social Media Policy
Tigers Hockey Club recognises the benefits of social media as an important tool of engagement for members and stakeholders. However, it is important that Tigers Hockey Club and its members are not tarnished by anyone using social media inappropriately in relation to content that references the organisation, staff, volunteers and stakeholders.

Complaints and Disciplinary Policy
Tigers Hockey Club aims to support people associated with our sport to make and resolve complaints they may have in a fair, timely and effective manner. This policy aims to provide guidance regarding official intra club complaint handling and disciplinary process.

Extreme Weather Guidelines
Tigers Hockey Club has adopted Hockey Australia's Extreme Weather Guidelines. However, it is noted that these are guidelines not hard and fast rules as some of the recomendations made would mean we never play hockey in Darwin. This does not mean we compromise on player safety but discretion will be used in some situations, such as high humidity, before cancelling/postponing activities.
These guidelines have been designed to protect players from injury and illness that may result by playing hockey in extreme weather conditions. The guidelines recognise that all players can be at risk although children can be at greater risk in some instances especially heat stress.

Player Insurance
All registered players will be covered by the National Hockey Insurance Programme, which ensures that all registered participants have a minimum level of insurance protection before they take to the pitch. JLT Sport are the national insurance broker and details of the insurance cover offered in the NT and the Policy Disclosure Statement can be found on Hockey NT's website.
